Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center seeks method to communicate with labs working with secret and restricted data

There is currently no capability for the Air Force to share data and have discussions with the labs at the secret restricted data level without meeting in person.

This restriction increases integration risk and adds additional burden to programs, according to an announcement looking for  technology platforms that could enable remote communication about sensitive information.

The Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center is doing market research to determine if there exist an adequate number of qualified, interested contractors capable of providing the requirement.

Efficient communication between the Department of Energy labs and the Air Force intercontinental ballistic missile community is critical for integration efforts for the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent Weapon System to be successful and timely, according to the announcement..

There is currently no capability for the Air Force to share data and have discussions with the labs without meeting in person.

Obtaining a service connection to the DOE’s Enterprise Secure Network on Hill AFB will overcome communications barriers by allowing all parties to have secure video teleconferences and electronically share data at the S\\RD level, it states. Obtaining an ESN connection requires a dedicated, independent internet service connection that is not shared with the AFnet service on the base. The internet service will need to provide sufficient bandwidth to support SVTC’s and other ESN work stations connected to the network.
