Octo acquires Volant Associates, a technology integrator and software development company focused on the intelligence community and DoD

The technology company Octo acquired Volant Associates, an IT integrator and software development company that provides solutions for defense intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions, Octo officials announced.

Volant was founded in 2008 and enables data sharing, advanced analytics, and enhanced mission capability across the Intelligence Community and Department of Defense.

With prime contracts supporting the Defense Intelligence Agency and other IC agencies, Volant has experience producing cloud-native, DevSecOps, and Data solutions in support of DoD enterprise data architectures and interoperability initiatives, including the Defense Intelligence Information Enterprise (DI2E) Common Data Fabric program. 

Volant has more than 85 highly cleared and technical employees and a corporate infrastructure that complement Octo’s growing commitment to the intelligence community and DoD.

“Volant and Octo have a similar client base and serve complementary missions within the community,” said Octo’s Sam Stollar, general manager of IC and Air Force. “We already know each other and have built a mutual respect for each other’s work through side-by-side customer delivery.” 

Volant’s leadership will remain with the company and will head a new division within Octo’s IC and Air Force Business Unit.
