DOE’s Brookhaven Lab looking for cloud-based software to replace PeopleSoft

The Department of Energy’s Brookhaven National Laboratory is seeking a cloud-based human resources software service to replace PeopleSoft, the organization announced.

Brookhaven Science Associates, which holds the prime contract to operate the lab, is seeking the cloud software to modernize the human resources system, according to a Sam.gov posting.

Brookhaven Science Associates has used PeopleSoft as its human resources system for 20 years, according to the announcement. The system functionality has been expanded and enhanced significantly with custom programming and “bolt-on” custom modules. BSA currently contracts with a 3rd party provider for limited support.

Brookhaven is planning to change its existing business processes to align with a cloud service technology to reduce risk and sustain long-term support. The company intends to acquire a SaaS solution that will support the changing needs for its human capital management system and expand Brookhaven’s capabilities.
