DARPA looks to improve artificial intelligence used to design hardware

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency issued an Artificial Intelligence Exploration Opportunity that is searching for innovative basic or applied research concepts related to intelligent hardware simulation, DARPA announced.

The new IA framework aims to create a faster and comprehensive simulation that will enable microelectronic engineers to make more informed decisions earlier in the design process, according to the announcement.

The hope is to detect faults earlier, improve corner case testing, and mitigate field-able risk for critical systems.

Proposals are due no later than 4 PM on November 6, 2020.
