Air Force looking for extended reality software models F-16 and C-17 aircrafts
Air Force officials are conducting market research to gather information on the contractors’ ability to develop and deliver F-16 and C-17 aircraft Extended Reality (XR) software models for crew Immersive Training Devices (ITDs), officials announced.
The Air Force wants a contractor to develop digital add-on models importable to and compatible with Lockheed Prepar3D to provide an accurate, high-resolution, and complete digital simulation of F-16 and C-17 cockpits for use in light-weight simulators employing Virtual Reality (VR) and Mixed Reality (MR) hosted in an innovative immersive training environment.
These digital models should represent the actual aircraft’s interior design and functionality, mirroring its appearance and operation.
Proposals are due November 4.
