Multiple NASA research contract opportunities available during July, awards range from $100,000 to $1 million

NASA’s research project titled Human Exploration Research Opportunities (HERO)–2021, is seeking research in support of NASA’s Human Research Program.

The research falls into one or more categories corresponding to five elements:

  • Space Radiation,
  • Human Health Countermeasures,
  • Exploration Medical Capability,
  • Human Factors and Behavioral Performance, and
  • Research Operations and Integration.

Several projects will open up to proposers during July.

Proposal due dates are given in each solicited research response area and posted at http://nspires.nasaprs.com/.

Interested proposers should monitor http://nspires.nasaprs.com/ and are encouraged to subscribe to the HEOMD electronic notifications system through their NSPIRES account subscription services for additional new solicited research announcements.

Supporting research in science and technology is an important part of NASA’s overall mission. NASA solicits this research through the release of various research announcements in a wide range of science and technology disciplines. NASA uses a peer review process to evaluate and select research proposals submitted in response to these research announcements. Researchers can help NASA achieve national research objectives by submitting research proposals and conducting awarded research.

Awards generally range from under $100,000 per year for focused, limited efforts (e.g., data analysis) to $1 million per year for extensive activities (e.g., development of scientific hardware).

The funds available for awards in each category offered in this solicitation range from less than one million to several million dollars, which allows NASA to select a few to numerous proposals depending on the program objectives and the submission of proposals of merit.
