Air Force wants to work more closely with academia and industry to develop software quickly for warfighters
An Air Force project hopes to improve the collaboration between academia, industry and the Defense Department in quickly developing software for warfighters, according to a DoD request for information.
The Cooperative Research and Development Agreement is designed to strengthen ties between the institutions and create a way to directly support the DoD Enterprise’s DevSecOps initiative by exploring new, innovative concepts to address defense software challenges, the RFI states.
“The future of secure software development and how it will be won is largely predicated on rapidly fielding quality solutions to the warfighter as quickly as possible,” according to the Air Force announcement. “Warfighters will increasingly rely on achievements in software to win tomorrow’s battles – many of which will be fought in the information and cyber domains.”
The purpose of this DRAFT Request For Information is to seek feedback on the proposed actions, gather comments, feedback and questions on the draft CRADA.
Air Force officials want to know what commercial partners think of the objectives of the CRADA project.
