The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking vendors who can provide cutting-edge neutron detector technology, according to a new request for information.
NNL wants technology that:
- provides a high-resolution understanding of core neutronics,
- operates in real-time,
- relies upon either one or zero reactor pressure vessel penetrations,
- has at least a 40-year lifetime for any in core components, and
- is affordable to manufacture, install, and maintain
